Why This Exists
Marjorie Reithmiller Andrews

This is the story behind SilverTech Directory, and why families deserve better information before they place someone they love.

Marjorie Reithmiller Andrews is the reason SilverTech exists.

After her husband died, our family made a decision many families are forced to make. We placed her in a home in Indianapolis and hoped we had chosen well.

She was in her 80s with severe vision and hearing loss and advanced diabetes that had already taken part of her foot. But that was never the full story of who she was. She was warm, social, and full of stories from more than 40 years as a science teacher.

What we found

When we visited, we found her in unacceptable condition. She was unclean, in bed without her teeth in, and clearly not receiving the care and dignity she deserved.

We took her out immediately.

Why SilverTech was built

What stayed with us was not only what happened during that visit. It was what happened before it. We had no reliable way to know that risk ahead of placement.

Families need transparent trust signals before they make one of the hardest decisions of their lives. That is why SilverTech focuses on licensing context, verified identifiers, clear comparison pages, and direct contact paths.

No referral pressure. No games. Just clearer information when the stakes are personal.

Our standard

Marjorie deserved better than what we found. Every family does.

If SilverTech helps one family avoid what ours went through, we are building the right thing.

With respect,

Andrew Dillon
